When you’re trying to cast a shoot, it’s always good to try and get guests who are very different to each other.  With our Boyfriend Vs Girlfriend shoots, that’s a pretty easy thing to do – but with an all-guy shoot things get more complicated.  But we’ve managed it in the past.  Remember when smooth and stocky Charlie, tall and hairy Tom, and Mediterranean Zane arrived for their shoot?  Or Andy and Joe?  Now, those two real-life mates couldn’t look more different even if they’d tried!  So it was with this in mind that I approached football-mad Lee.  We filmed a trilogy of shows starring buffed-up Lee (from the Midlands), clean-cut Scott (from the North) and scally Gav (from the South).  All the shows are pretty special, and each game sees a genuine contest between at least two of the guys – and even the sketch in Lee’s show sees one of the other fellas getting a right good messing up too!  Oh, and the title “Cold Comfort” comes from the fact that poor old Lee really feels the cold, and, even during our beautifully sunny shoot, he spent quite a lot of time shivering! • The Splat! Interview – An interview with a difference (and quite a lot of tomato ketchup)!  We filmed all three interviews consecutively (this was the third in front of the camera), so Lee, Gav and Scott already had a generous helping of slimy raw eggs and porridge over them from the off!  It wasn’t long before Lee and his interviewer Scott found themselves getting a ketchup shampoo, to make this our definitively, messiest interview yet!
• Splat the Footie Fan – Lee’s a pretty keen footballer (he’s even had trials for West Brom!), and with Scott also being a busy amateur player it seemed only fair to put their skills to the test – with the looser receiving a colourful gunging in the tank!
• The Weather Forecast Sketch – This is possible the messiest thing we’ve ever done with food – and our forecasters, Lee and Gav, were at the epicentre of this particular tornado!  Warm water was followed by rice pudding, spaghetti, chopped tomatoes, trifle, flour, and a very full bucket of baked beans.  Although Scott had faced some ignominies of his own during the day, he did confess that he was glad that he was the one throwing, dripping, flinging, and pouring the slop, rather than being one of the guys having to take it!
• Target Practice – For the first time, this game saw all three guys in the firing line.  Each could throw four handfuls of porridge at one of the others, and the points they scored depended on where the sloppy balls of oats landed.  At first it looked like Scott would be entering the tank (after getting Gav in the crotch, earning himself a ten point deduction) – but Lee soon proved to be the worst shot of all!  A porridge shower awaited the looser in this game – and Lee confessed that he was still finding little bits of oats in his chest hair several showers later!
