Andy's Highland Gunge / Available To View
Andy MacDonald is a 22 year-old professional athlete who seemed
pretty nervous when he first arrived – but he soon got into the swing of
getting especially messy! The show’s presented by his best mate Joe
Griffith, who seemed to relish the chance to get Andy as gunged as
possible! Andy’s quite a furry fella (and Joe doesn’t look like he’s
yet hit puberty!), so it was the ideal chance to resurrect our “Beauty
and the Beast” game with its evil forfeit of freezing cold water and
loads of flour. There’s a return of reader-suggested game “The Cards of
Doom” (where Andy does a lot better than Joe would’ve liked!), plus two
new, very smelly, games! Although I’m biased, I think the two shows we
shot with Andy and Joe are our best yet, and both surely deserve a place
in every slapstick fan’s collection!
Andy and Joe took park in the real Highland games in 2006. The Splat! Blog was there. Check out the report!

- The Splat! Interview – This is an interview with a difference! Whilst asking Andy about his life, career and ambitions, Joe’s got a list of 10 words that he’s got to make Andy say – and every time he succeeds, Andy gets a slimy treat!
- What A Sauce! – We all know how difficult and frustrating it can be to get tomato ketchup out of the bottle and onto your plate. But is it any easier getting it out of the bottle and onto your mate?!? The one with the most sauce left in his bottle gets the gunge – and as it’s Andy’s show, the result may not be what you expect!
- I’ve Gotta Get Gunged! – Andy’s given a tray of food with which he’s got to make himself thoroughly messy in 90 seconds! If he fails, the gunge tank beckons. But if he succeeds…? Joe loved the evil twist at the end of this game. Andy wasn’t quite so sure!
- The Cards of Doom – A return of the reader-suggested game. It’s a long quiz-based game (great value for money!!!) where the food flies throughout! Andy and Joe go head-to-head, and Joe’s quite surprised at how many questions Andy gets right! This is probably the only time you’ll ever see Andy empty a tin of spaghetti down the inside of the back of Joe’s shorts!!!! The final forfeit in this entirely food-based game is three buckets of thick and lumpy porridge!
- Beauty and the Beast: The “Soak Sawyer” Special – You may have noticed that Andy bears a striking resemblance to a certain character from “Lost”. He’s also got the longest hair of any Splat! show guest, and a furry chest and stomach to match. So it would just be cruel to give him a freezing shower followed by a covering of flour. And Joe wouldn’t be so nasty as to make sure that that flour congealed in any bit of hair he saw on Andy. Well, if I wasn’t cruel, and Joe wasn’t nasty, we wouldn’t be putting this slice of slapstick silliness up for sale!
